Garrett founded the firm in 2012 with the goal of bringing virtual currency investing into the mainstream by providing comprehensive research, trading, and asset management services. His expertise are in valuing virtual currency securities and investing in hardware development for virtual currency networks. Under his guidance, Surf Capital Management was one of the principal investors in computer hardware companies that implemented application specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to process transactions on the Bitcoin network. Garrett received his B.A. in Economics in 2013 from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
